GTA 4 - help please chopper mission - pegerino

it tough, i use a 360 pad and took 2 goes, id image its harder with the keyboard, just keep bashing away.

its a pain you have to go back and kill all the goons to get to it
 
This caught me out the first couple of times. It seems to be down to just pressing the space bar (IIRC) as fast as you can - lame I know.

Also once in the copter you are controlling it as well - the first time I climbed in it just crashed !
 
I found that sometimes hitting the space bar as fast as possible isn't the best way to do it, rather you should get a decent rhythm going at a fairly rapid but not flat out rate, if that makes any sense!

For controlling the heli, make sure you hold down the right mouse button to rotate the view around. Took me several goes to figure that out.
 
I had trouble with this and have read several places that if you skip the cut scene with him on the stairs then its impossible to get in the copper.

I don't know if this bug is real or not but I must have tried 10 times at least, first go at not skipping the cut scene and I did it no problem.
 
finally did it last night, though i kinda cheated got frustrated to the point where i had to leave the game for a bit, did some research and then downloaded autoit batch software and made a script to hammer space.

this worked fine but.......... i crashed the heli lol

then i got hit by a rocket twice.........

and finally got the mission done
