I've just got GTA IV and I've read a few times that there's a graphic mod that makes the graphics more realistic and the textures better quality.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to get this mod?

Thanks

Yeah that's what I was looking for, cheers.

I've just installed it and GTA IV is saying I don't have enough resource memory to run the game at the max settings with my GTX 460..

Yeah I did that and turned everything else down, managed to get 1920 x 1080 with High texture and very high render quality.

Since my card has only 768MB memory, I thought the GPU shared some memory with the computer memory?

Is there no way to do that because I find it hard to believe I can't run GTA IV on maximum settings with an i5 2500k & GTX 460 ;\

I wouldnt worry about going over the memory limit so much. I'm above it(same graphics card)470 > 430 mem limit. Hasnt affected performance that I've noticed, I could probably go higher.

Great..is it just because of this type of game because I can run Battlefield/Black Ops/Shogun Total war 2/Crysis Warhead on maximum settings without a problem but with this game my card struggles

Ok so I've just used the "auto configure" and the game is extremely laggy and slow even though the usage is 544MB/760MB?

Is there a patch I need to fix this problem?

The game is poorly coded. As a comparison Mafia II looks better and runs perfectly on my GTX 460.

It's definitely a problem with the game, I'm looking around for patches now since I haven't downloaded any.

I've now got the game at the lowest possible graphics settings and I'm still getting a lot of lag and stutter.

There is mod called Realizm IV which you can download on torrent, its about 4 gig but improves the textures and also boosts the FPS. Use that with the ENBseries and it should look good. However I think you have to install it manually on the latest patch (1.0.7) for it to work.

I don't see the game running at that quality if I can't fix this problem but luckily the 1.0.6.0 patch seems to:

Shadows

* A new, less memory-intensive, and better-looking scalable shadow solution has been implemented
* Enhanced Night Shadows added with user-selectable level of detail (replaces Shadow Density)

Performance

* Rendering optimizations have been made to improve performance, particularly when enabling shadows
* User-configurable graphics settings have been added for shadow control
* Improved memory management

So hopefully that is the solution to this problem!

Are you running the Steam version of GTA, or disc based ?

Reason I ask is because Enb Series mods work best with version 1.040 or 1.004 of GTA - patch 4 or 5 iirc.

These versions have dithered / blocky looking shadows & use more video mem, but run around 25% quicker.

The later versions, 1.060 and above iirc, have better looking shadows & use less video memory, but run a bit slower oddly enough.

Awesome, I've installed the patch and it's fixed the problem, there are a whole load of graphic options and I can run everything at maximum apart from detail distance @ 1920 x 1080 even with Anisotropic filtering x16!

Thanks for the help. It runs very smoothly now :)

I bought it from Amazon, it's the complete edition on disc.

I'm eager to try out the Enb series mods but I've just installed patch 1.060, do I just install 1.004 and it'll automatically remove 1.060? Or do I need to manually remove that patch cause I don't know how
