GTA V Multiplayer thread (360, XBOX ONE, PS3 and PS4)

My PS3 keeps crashing at the update game bit, tells me 1.01 is available, click ok and it just black screens. Have to hold power down to switch the console off.

So I managed to get to the character create bit once. Then it froze and now it just black screens whilst trying to select online. Just going to carry on with my 100% progress and try again tomorrow I think.

M: "Yo Frank. I need your help with something."
F: "Sure, what's up dawg?"
M: "Lester has asked me to hijack a freight train heading through Paleto Bay"
F: "Why in the world does he want ya to do that maan?" M: "Apparently he can't get a decent connection online, there's some new video game that every kid and their dog is playing. He said that the train is loaded up with top-of-the-line servers and cabling. Do you think you can drive me to the train so I can hijack it?"
F: "Fo sho maan. Aiight, holla at you in a bit homie."
M: "Thanks Frank, I'm countin' on you"

Seeing as we can put our crew logo on our cars and stuff, shall we create a really good one? What kind of thing shall we have on there? Any thoughts?

I can't even draw stick men so I'm out lol.

Well if you think it's poor then it must be pretty bad, the world seems pretty empty from the few streams I've watched. I realise though that it's going to be an ongoing thing and Rockstar said it wouldn't be great at the start.

I wouldn't say poor, maybe I set the expectations on par with the SP. And it's not there just yet.

Just wanna team up and do proper missions. Not death matches or races :p

Wooo spend ages making a character look like myself and then it deletes after having to quit because the race won't load :/
Not bothered about servers being unstable, but having to create a new char each time if you can't get in is a bit of a joke and no I haven't gone into it when the cloud is unavailable!

I wouldn't expect that just get a billion in the bank the next day or anything.

I also don't think they only had £10 in the current account when developing the game. Everyone knew what a hit it would be - the markets knew for a start. It's not particularly difficult to raise capital with such a sure-fire hit in your product range.

Also, sheer numbers took them by surprise.

Rubbish - excluding the negliable numbers who bought from the PS Store, everyone playing the game has a physical copy. They'll have known exactly how many physical copies they had produced! They can't sell more copies than they have shipped.

Exactly this, they would be wasting a large amount of money putting equipment in place that would only really benefit the first week or so of launch after that most of it would be redundant and serve no purpose.

Saying oh well they earned 1 billion so it doesn't matter is daft, they also spent hundreds of millions making and marketing the game and want to maximize profits.

You can commission and decommission capacity on demand with the right sort of contract. Sure, it costs more on a per server basis than a nice and easy fixed 3 year contract, but if thats what it takes, its what it takes.

In very few other industries do firms ship things which basically just don't work properly and everyone tolerates it and even defends the practice. With most other products you purchase, they work out of the box exactly as intended.

Gaming is not niche anymore. It's big, big money business. I expect better as a result.

This came up when i went to create a character after loads of attempts... and it worked this time too!! NICE! :D

Is that John Marston? How do you select him as a parent? That's epic. :p

[quote="Aeleys, post: 25037696"]Wouldn't bother really mate, you can't do much and the cloud drops in and out. Give them a bit to fix it all up for us :p
