gta4 arriving before the weekend?

just had an email from the people i preordered gta with
they are a popular high street brand so i am sure many otherws will have used them for their pre orders

they are processing my order today for gta4

normally i get these emails for preorder games the day before they dispatch the game.

now my copy of vegas 2 arrived 4 days before official release - would they really do the same with gta?

my gut feeling is that they have so many preorders that they are just getting the earliest ones out of the way first as mine has been on order for as long as it has been on the site.

Check in the official thread theres a big debate going on in there about release dates and such.

Look on the official thread plenty of us have had the same mines been packed processed etc but it doesnt mean it will ship early. Maybe a chance that some will be shipped out on friday so MAY get them on monday.

I reckon this is why rockstar picked such a strange release date - if it arrives early shops can't pretend they accidentally posted it a day early, in order for people to get it by money the shop will need to post it at least 4 days earlier than they should and then rockstar have em by the danglies.

It's not a strange release date. In USA games released Tuesdays, in UK it's Fridays. Due to a worldwide release (and presumably USA being the bigger market for this game) they have decided to release it worldwide on Tuesday. Although I agree, shops will have a hard time excusing early dispatch/sales. i doubt this will be a regular thing, most games are not big enough to justify doing the logistics in this manner.
