I really don't know which one I'm going for, I used to be an Nvidia fan boy, but I love the HD range. I guess I'm just going to have to wait for the results and reviews to air.

Which one are you guys looking forward to?

Both, I'm fairly certain my OC 480 will be a match for a stock 580 maybe even faster so for me it's just the 6970 in the main, its specs and performance I'm looking forward to seeing, won't be buying one though.

ahhh fair enough mate :) so even for myself I could get a 480 and OC it to a 580? would you need any extra cooling equipment. I'm still fairly new on the OC-ing. My i7 runs at an OK temperature with a stock CPU fan, but my case is the coolermaster HAF 932. and I have heard it is a good case for air cooling.

any help would be very much appreciated :3

Well I turn my fan up to 70%, 80c max temps when gaming, suits me. Your case has way better cooling than me so I would expect better temps and a quiet fan as a consequence.

I wouldn't get carried away with overclocking as it's hit and his to what actual advantages it brings to games but benchmark tools like Vantage and Haven love overclocking then again you can't play Haven.

I have to say I'm impressed with the paper specs of the GTX580, the vapour chamber cooler is nice and much needed addition to cool high end beasts and should provide much lower noise levels. My only criticism of the use of the use of a vapour chamber is that it gives AIB's less room to differentiate there products.

Ahaa ;D thanks guys for the replies. I'm not too sure about overclocking as I've heard it can degrade your GPU etc, but I guess if everyone has done it then it can't be that bad for the hardware right?
