Raise the clocks to what they should be and meh.

A brand new 5970 is £410-£430... wow £10 more
 
People, yet again Wizzard is being dodgey as hell, AMD results in old drivers with worse results, did the same for the 480gtx review.

Call of Juarez 2, missing 5970 result in recent reviews despite the 5970 being by FAR the fastest, look here

Notice how here the 5970 result is simply missing.

SO Wizzard has systematically taken out every fastest game for AMD, or removed results and has not readded one result at less than half the speed the same card achieved before.

I've never actually been more convinced Wizzard is the biggest Nvidia cheat on the net at the moment.


As for overclocking, been saying for days that if the 580gtx doesn't overclock better all you get is 6.5% more shaders, which likely won't give you much more than 4-6.5% more performance depending on the game. Now this card can't overclock properly, is limited and so is 5% faster. Epic failure for a card that was launched 3 times within 14 months.

Given the scaling, the 6850's in crossfire are on par with the 5970.
Two 6870's in Xfire batter a 5970.
10 to 30 = 10 to 30, not 10.

suppose you could say the same about the gtx295 then which is 2 years old and only just behind the 5970 in them benchmarks, but same price is a little wrong being as the only one ocuk sell atm is £549,

i doubt very much that the 6970 will beat the 5970, it was just a beast of a card that still works well,

Would love to see how a heavly OCed 480 will do against the 580.

should be up there with it i suppose but looking at those benchmarks at the beginning of the thread i still think they are a little low, i downloaded the avp benchmark just for comparison, the gtx 580 sli got around 44fps if i remember rightly at 2560x1600, i just ran it with sli 480's@stock and got 62.7, would like to know the exact settings they used just for a comparison really
 
It doesn't really matter how much faster this card is than the GTX 480. All that counts is will it beat 6970 (before and after overclocking).

I own 2x 5970 and 2x 5870... and a 480GTX.

I'm in a much better position to tell YOU what they can do.

Who gives a crap about my typeing and / or spelling unless your a compleat moron who has to take the **** out of people who cant type well or spell.

It is clear that there will be little to no performance increase from the 480 which you already have, yet you seem exited and thinking about buying one of these?? :confused:

Take the above comment about it not representing 580 max temps.
