GTX 590 Ultra?

Why would you pay even more than a more expensive 590gtx just to then only match a 6990 performance, which itself is overpriced because 2x6950 is absolutely unbeatable in terms of top end performance and value. Its a 10% overclock(ok, closer to 15%), that you can do on any 590gtx anyway(from a quick look going up to 725-750Mhz seems about right for most 590gtx's.

2x570gtx, or 2x6950's, the only sane choices around, 2x570gtx WILL beat a 590gtx, every time, overclock further, run cooler, run quieter, as weill the 6950's which will probably beat the 570gtx's due to better xfire scaling, and unlocking to 6970's.

You can buy 2x£200 cards now and have better performance, or wait for a , probably £700 version of a 590gtx, which will still be slower.

If it HAS to be one card, wait a couple weeks for better prices and buy a normal 590gtx, or probably a better option, wait for 3rd party versions of 6990/590's and see whats good.

True, but I've heard a few horror stories with the GTX 590 overclocking, so that's why I was thinking of this card, it's obviously overclocked right out the box, so no need to worry about stability, warranty etc.

I've just sold my 5970 for 420 quid (bargain) and tbh I hated it, from issues with CF drivers not utilizing both GPU's in game's such as BFBC2 to the whole black flickering issues due to the crappy drivers of ATI.

The noise also annoyed me I don't mind hearing fans but my 5970 was pretty loud and the 6990 is apparently worse.

Sorry I should have stated I was thinking of trying 3D vision for the time being, until I get my 30 inch in about 6 months time which is why I was going with Nvidia this time.

The issue I see about buying 2x 570's is arn't I buying older tech when I'm trying to protect myself down the line, for example if I needed to add a another GTX 590 down the line in say a year?
