*** GTX 670 Overclocking Thread ***

does it have to be stable or a heaven run is fine?

I'd prefer game stable... if heaven makes your OC crash but playing say BF3 for 3 hours doesn't and you are happy with running like that then post it

This isn't like the Heaven thread where it's purely for epeen, I'm trying to build usability stats so really it would be useful if people stick to posting up results that are used for every day gaming, rather than one of benchmarking results

You really do come across as an angry, miserable person.

Not just here, but on the nvidia forums too.

Is there any good reason, or just miserable for the sake of it?

Gotta be due to how people reply to me, take your post for example, 100x angrier and much more miserable than mine was.

It makes comparing cards easier if they are all running the same settings.

Yes, and just about every other forum uses max settings @ 1080p for this purpose, and also max settings are more important for stress testing stability.

Make & Model: Gigabyte WindForce 3X
Best Boost clock: 1337MHz (7200MHz memory)
Temp: 53c
Noise: What noise!!
Heaven Score: 2085
Heaven Avg. FPS: 82.6fps

Can we please keep to the OPs request and keep discussions, personal insults and flaming in another topic? We're still on the first page but I have to still swim through a sea of rage and hate to find any overclocking results.

P.S has anyone varnished their card yet?

GB Windforce
1263Mhz (+100) core
3557 (+550) memory
66 C on 1hr bf3 gameplay auto fan setting
Noise: my coil whine is much louder :D

seems like my old +100 memory bf3 crash wasnt down to gpu overclock <happy mode>

So it appears that the Gigabyte Windforce OC seems to be the GTX 670 card to go for? I was considering waiting for a couple of EVGA GTX 680's, but from what I can gauge 670 SLI performance is within 3 or 4 fps of SLI 680's or a 690 (at 2560x1600), and with the OC headroom of these Windforce cards they're able to keep up with reference 680's SLI?

Or have I got it really wrong?

Where is the statement that evga do not make cards as good as the others mentioned come from?

They simply don't. EVGA make nothing comparable to Asus DCUII, Gigabyte Windforce or MSI twinfrozr cards. I've not seen anything as good as those from EVGA.

Any facts? Hard evidence? your opinion?

Temperatures are always lower, and overclocks tend to be better on Giga, Asus, MSI custom designs.

Where's the EVGA equivalent to the Gigabyte Windforce cards this gen? Where was their equivalent to MSIs Twinfrozrs the last two gens? They didn't have anything on par with those cards.

to be honest, i have never had a Asus or MSI card, ive had various giga and evga cards and both have been solid for me. I have never had to RMA a thing gpu wise.

Reason i asked is im thinking about EVGA 670. But i love the looks of the Windforce and the KFA ex oc. Until recently i had never heard of KFA so a little reluctant to part cash for them.
