**GTX 690 NOW AVAILABLE AT OcUK!!**

Performing on par/better than AMD's top end. Etc etc, blah blah. You're only as good as your competition.

that's why the rebage due to no competition now, nvidia want competition as well the current line shows this,
thats why we see a 690 so fast on the shelf's as mid range cards are cooler in Dual gpu format.

if Nvidia brought out there real kepler beast they would kill AMD cards for good.

Hmmmmm, so wait a year and buy one when it goes under £600 new or second hand, or wait for a dual GPU single PCB GTX 670 .....

Or wait a year for the GTX 670 equivalent, that should be even less.

I'm not going to make as much as I needed from my old junk to buy one for £800 :(

Lack of competition is also why it costs so much.

Hello folks, I'm al ready to pull the trigger on two 690's from OCUK but that frame buffer keeps nagging away at me. I mainly play at 6110x1080 and my GTX 680 SLi system at the moment is keeping up but there is always room for more :D. I just wish nVidia had put in at least a 3GB frame buffer on the 690.

Was wondering if anyone took delivery and if so can they please post in OCUK Heaven/Crysis2/Batman/3DMARK/Metro bench threads.

THX.

You got 1700 quid to spare?

Wanna borrow me a grand for one? Or give me your 680s cheap? lol

With your res, I would seriously consider going 4GB 680's. VRAM would become a limiting factor at such a high res.

Mine I purchased is slightly less/slightly less performance than GTX 680 SLI.

I have always perfered single slot cards.
My current SLI setup required MSI Afterburner profiles to run effectively quiet & cool.
Not to forget the power cosumption :(

The only bad thing I can think of that it should have maybe had 6GB of memory (3GB x 2)

They could not make a 680 or 690 with 3gb/6gb ram due to the size or the memory bus on the card 2gb or 4gb (per gpu) are the only options realistically. We may have to wait till the 'full fat' version of Kepler before we see 3gb/6gb due to the expected wider memory bus on this GPU (384 vs 256 bit likely)

The cost of these cards is ridiculous and no different than the ridiculous price of the special edition 5970, but they were the super duper edition and i remember the your crazy comments directed at the few of us who bought them but now even more people are willing to pay that for the standard edition, now that is crazy. :D

And I don't care if it should have been "you're" :P
