I've currently got a couple of GTX 260's in SLI, would upgrading to 2 GTX 560's be worth an upgrade? Would I notice a much improved increase in gaming performance? If so, is getting a more expensive card worth it or are the cheaper manufacturers models just as good?

Also, something that has been bugging me all day... what does the 'Ti' mean?

A good 80% improvement overall from your GTX260, so pretty damn good and probably more or less equivalent to GTX260 SLi without all the noise, power, heat and multi-gpu nonsense.

Ti is a suffix last used in the Geforce 4 days; why it's being used again, who knows.

A friend told me a few days ago that the reason nvidia are naming their gtx 560 Ti is because it's not quite an A-Ti (Ati) yet, it still has some way to go.... just found that a bit funny

Your friend must be a ATI fanboy then lol.

Performance wise, Nvidia always has a slight edge over ATI...but in terms of pricing, ATI had been more competitive. Current gen however has pretty much put both performance and pricing of both camp on equal ground, but with different offerings in features, and difference in the top end: one offer fastest single GPU, where the other offer the fastest single card (with two GPUs smack onto a single PCB).

I've just pre-ordered a 560, albeit the Gigabyte SOC model, to replace my GTX275. The 275 is a still a great card but it's starting to struggle with some newer stuff at 1920x1200 with the eye-candy enabled so was time for an upgrade. The 460 just didn't offer enough of a jump so I was looking at the 570 but the Gigabyte 560 looks like a better bet - cheaper, cool & quiet and nearly as fast as the 570. Reckon I'm looking at double the speed of my 275 on average plus DX11 support into the bargain.

Or he could have been just having fun, like some people like to do.

Going to be building a system with a MSI 560 but the pc i am using at the mo has a gtx260 so will be interesting to see the differences in games as i know what FPS i get with this one , expecting a pretty decent increase :) .
