you need to concentrate more on your bf3 than the size of your graphics card. of course you could get a half height soundcard if its just the size discrepancy you care about.

i heard you were too scared to come and get em again so you sent stonedraider instead.

This card sounds interesting Cleeecooo.
'ZOTAC adds three cards to its lineup, every card is slightly different. The 670-2GD5 Extreme Edition features full length PCB with large dual fan cooler, which is 2cm higher than reference one. ZOTAC claims that this cooling solution will provide up to 38% better cooling performance. This model is also equipped with OC+ overclocking module. Card requires 8+6 pin power connectors. Card has default set of display outputs. ZOTAC decided to equip this model with additional backplate. Card is set to 1100 MHz base clock and 1202 MHz boost clock. Memory is overclocked to 6600 MHz.'
Drool................LOL.![]()

EK may do blocks for the current 670s

According to cooling configurator the short PCB blocks are 'coming soon'.
You never know cleee, maybe EK will over-size the blocks? Giving an overhang like the stock coolers have, put a backplate on no-one would ever know
Logic tells me that there surely must be 4GB 680 PCB cards in the pipeline though. If anything for the sake of a decent custom cooler...

wow, I would have thought the FTW being on a 680 PCB would be a given.
From looking at the 680 4GB line up, seems a 4GB Phantom may be something to keep an eye on?
What would look incredible on those 670 short PCB's, would be if EK made an overhang made purely of plexi to allow water to move through. Save on nickel costs, add to looks![]()

Because it looks more like I have 3 sound cards in my system when watercooled. Looks are, for me, just as important as functionality.
This short PCB thing is winding me up a lot :/

Nah, I was busy chasing te important people for theirs
Anyways, back in topic, it's the length that's the main issue. I'm used to handling long cards. 6.5" is simply too small for a graphics card.
It's as big as it needs to be for the thing to work! Supposedly any revision of the 680 will have the same small layout. This is a positive development in graphic card engineering, most of us would argue that cards have been far too big for the last 6 or 7 years. You guys are wired!
I'm not denying that. But Nvidia are trying to pass off a mid end card as a high end. If they're going to do that atleast have the decency to make it look high end!
I'm also looking at 4GB cards and I was wondering if there is apart from the size any other difference between the short and long pcb?

Apparently the ability to overclock is better on the larger PCB.(
