Guide dog attack CCTV footage

Argh  Why was the dog off its leash, why was it out in the street when so obviously dangerous and finally why did the idiot owner make such a half-assed lame attempt to stop it attacking the poor labrador? Really 'grinds my gears'. The fact the owner was drinking in the steet says a lot about the kind of chump he was.

A few days ago my brother and his fiance were out walking their pup and a wandering dog (no lead, no tags) tried attacking their dog, it only gave up the effort after my brother put in 2 boots to the ribs. People really need to take more care with their animals.

Check that the woman is okay? I think his prime concern would've been to keep the dog well away from her and her lab. The bloke did all he could - arguably - when he needed to, however two things are evident:

1. The dog should never have been off the lead in the first instant.
2. The dog now clearly needs to be destroyed.

The chap in question clearly looks like the type who'll have such a dog for status and such does need to be held accountable for that.

What a *****. It's junkie chavs like that who give all Bulls and their owners a bad name. Those types of dogs are a handy tool and a great pet in the right hands, but unfortunately every Joe Blow and his thirteen kids are breeding them now. Status symbols, init?

I grew up with these types of dog, and until very recently had several of them. They were family pets, workers and devoted companions. Strangely, none of them have ever gone careering around a public place attacking guide dogs.

WHY let a dog like that off the lead in a public place? His reaction when he saw the guide dog approaching said it all. HIS dog hadn't moved yet, but he knew what was about to happen! Then to go kicking and punching the thing?! Any bull breed owner with half a brain would have separated those two in a few seconds flat using a breaking stick. The only thing this scum had on him was a beer.

I despair. Hopefully the police will catch up with them and give them BOTH the bullet.

Very good post with which I agree. Bar the last point. Exterminate the dog, not the owner. Ban the owner from keeping any animal on pain of long term prison.

It's so sad to see this kind of thing. I still have scars on my hand from separating some Italian ****'s bull of my (RIP) lab. The ignorant **** owner just did jack and told me to leave his dog alone. Being a foreigner in Italy sucked at that point, I was just 14/15 and couldn't speak a lot of italian and was left upset and powerless.

Shame to see so MANY ******* scumbags owning these (normally) lovely dogs

I get what you mean when you say he was getting the dog away but do you rearly think thats what he had going through his head? At one point he seems to walk off leaving the two dogs.

I agree with your rainmaker that its not nesicarily the breed of dog its how that dog is brought up.

prbably panicked after the dog wouldnt let go , maybe he was looking for help? maybe he was looking where the woman went? i didnt see her after the first little bit of the video.

my sisters yorkshire terrier was savaged by a british bulldog that thankfully i didnt witness it took around 6 adults beating the crap out of the dog to make it let go and when it did my sisters dog had a big chunk missing out of its kneck.

A dog like that, its in their instinct to lock the jaws and not let go until their 'prey' is dead. You would need to seriously beat it to get it off, I think the dog owner did his best to stop the attack.

That is not to say I am defending the owner, that dog should have been muzzled and leashed; and he should have checked on the woman when the attack was done.

But in terms of stopping a dog fight halfway through (when a terrier is involved), no chance.

As I said earlier, as someone who has kept and bred bullies and terriers for a lot of years, that's not true. It would have taken a few seconds at most for any responsible dog owner to break the dog off with a 'breaking stick'*. Such an implement is always within reach of a responsible 'bull & terrier' owner, and is basically a chiselled down hammer handle type device. You insert it into the dog's mouth between the canine and premolars, and twist gently but firmly to break the bite. Easy, fast and safe.

But chavs who carry beer around with their penis extensions don't know this. Nor should they have such dogs in the first place.

EDIT: * That's a lie actually. A RESPONSIBLE owner wouldn't have allowed this situation to develop in the first place. But I digress.

There is no dog in the world that can "lock the jaws" ...... don't believe all you hear!

I don't understand what he was doing there in the first place? He puts his can of beer down, lets go of his dog and what? Stands there?

Was he trying to intimidate and block off that tunnel? Just looked weird to me. But from the CCTV it's difficult to get the full picture.

yea looks like he was going to take a troll pill and then charge for passage across his bridge

its obvious because hes wearing tracksuit bottoms and doesnt have his dog on a leash.

pure chav scum , probably wanted to mug the poor old blind lady and maybe eat her dog, luckily something spooked him and he called it off though

That dog should have been muzzled before he walked it out of the front door! People really should be checked out before they can get their hands on a dog thats potently capable of such volatile behaviour.

I'm not defending him the man is obviouslya retard, but the dog was on a lead, he just seemed to drop it for some reason. You see him try and step on the lead just before the dog runs to attack.

A dog like that should be muzzled if it is that agressive, in most cases it would be put down. But I love dogs and a sensible owner with an agressive dog can go by without anything like this happening.

I cannot begin to tell you how much it annoys me when people do have dogs off the lead, my dog has been attacked on multiple occasions by dogs off the lead. Unfortunately only times when the mrs was walking him so I couldn't do anything.

The time a bull mastiff tried attacking him and I was there I picked him up and this dog was still trying to get at him and got me a few times, so it got a couple of swift kicks to head before the stupid owner actually came over to do something. Always followed by "oh he doesn't normally do that" or "he normally listens to me"
