I lost my account details for Guild Wars ages ago and had problems retrieving them. Long story short I had a gold seller try to hack my account about 2 weeks ago and managed to identify my account and gain access again. I have been unable to actually login to Guild Wars though. I keep getting an error message when I enter my login name and password (and I know not to use the main NCSoft details)
I have had the following discussion with support and I am amazed at how obtuse they are.
Hello James,
That error message indicates that you're using the wrong login information. Since we know that you're using the right login name, it would then be the password that's triggering this particular error message. Try resetting the Guild Wars password from within the NCsoft master account. Once you have a new game password, try logging into the game again. You can reset the Guild Wars password by following the instructions found here:

That doesn't work. Whenever I try to login I get a Code 227 error. I have tried resetting my password.
I am entering
XXXXXXXXXXX
as the account name along with my password.

The XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Guild Wars account has been unblocked. As far as I can see from our records, this is the login name/game account that you should be using to access the game. This game account is linked to the XXXXXXXX NCsoft account whose password we reset previously.
