Guitar Hero band kit vs Rock Band band kit on Xbox 360

Ok so I'd like to know which is the better band kit to buy - Guitar Hero or Rock Band.

I got Guitar Hero World Tour (+ Guitar) for christmas and now want to buy the full band kit. I also intend to buy the Rock Band games and ive already checked for compatibility across both games.

I know the controllers in Rock Band band in a box are all wired whereas the Guitar hero ones aren't, but in terms of cost the guitar hero is so much more expensive. But is it worth shelling out that extra money?

Anyhow, I really would like people's thoughts on this and what band kit you have. :)
 
I've got one of each guitar, and the new Beatles Gretsch Pro Duo is my favourite to use so far.

Tbh, if I had to buy a band in a box set now, it would be the Beatles one, with the wireless drum kit, mic and guitar.
 
GH drums feal more like drums as you have symbols, RB ones u can hit a pad and its a symbol then next its a drum. they also imo dont make half as much noise.

guitar wise it all depends on if you like it to click or not.

mic theres no difference.

i personaly prefer the GH instruments.
 
Unless you are getting the beatles band in a box kit then I would go for the Guitar Hero stuff.

Standard Rock Band drums are not velocity sensing and are generally junk.

Guitar Hero drums are velocity sensing and although the stand is a bit wobblier they tend to take a bit more abuse.

Rock Band Beatles drums however are simply reskinned rock band 2 drums which were never available in Europe before now unless you special ordered them. Those are velocity sensing and are built a bit better than the originals.

Another option strangely enough if you are xbox 360 and are unsure if you would like the drums is the Madcatz portable set. you can get those for around 20 quid on fleabay.

I have had both the rock band and GH:WT drums for the 360 and was fairly displeased with the overall feel of both of them so I ended up building my own custom mesh head set and using the controller brain from the GH:WT set.
 
The Band Hero drums are a superb piece of kit. Best console drum kit I've used. I broke about 4 sets of Rock Band drums but my BH drums don't have a mark on them yet.
