Great guitar solos anybody?

This guy is awesome. His name is Stefan Joubert and he performs his unique guitar/piano style playing around London. I've seen him in Covent Garden and near the London Eye.

I'm sure that song is called "walk on water" and is by Bob Zabek

slightly different, but similar :)

and Justin King too

something a little different to the usual "OMG W0W SHRED" things people rave about :p

Justin King is totally awesome. not usually a big fan of guitar solos, but he's excellent

Watched my Dire Straits live DVD the other day, Mark Knopfler is such an excellent player :)

I saw a black lad in London a couple of years ago and I nearly got arrested because I boo'd a cop who moved him on. I must have put a fiver in his tin but he was worth every penny and played in the same style.
However, both of these guitarist are copying the great Stanley Jordan.
Just put his name in You Tube to watch an originator at work.

Are you 100% sure his name is Stefan Joubert? I might know him.

I was watching some of Jordan's stuff on You Tube the other week, my brother put me onto him.. all I can say is "wow"

I didn't like that Sabicas piece, but that's mainly just the composition style.

That second Tommy Emmanuel video was great though :D

where the hell is Shawn Lane (RIP)?

there he is, in my opinion, he was the most brilliant musician and fastest guitarist in the world (ok, Rusty Cooley is faster, but Shawn makes it sound good)

more Shawn Lane awesomeness

I know the above isn't just "fast" but there was a guy who used to play on the Basingstoke scene years ago, he was incredibly fast but that was all he could do.. the first couple of times I heard him I was speechless but it soon grew boring, definitely one-trick-pony syndrome. I absolutely love some real fast playing but it has to be tempered with some feeling and emotion :)
