This Sunday (30th) is the start of the 2006 Gumball 3000.

Starts in London before the 1st leg to Brussels.

If you like fast cars and hot women get yourself up to London, Pall Mall. Between 1300 and 1600 the cars are being shown off. And from 1600 - 1800 the flag is dropped and the race starts.

I will be going up there and hope to get some nice shots but there are many photographers who could get some stunning shots. So if you aren't busy. Get on down and then post back on here.

yep they keep coming so close, and they got some new diesel prototype beemer or something, so god knows how fast it will be, their old one used to keep up with f430's and the like through the gears.

Yea just been reading the tuning story on the site, new car looks fantastic and you can bet it will be quicker than the last car :)

A mate of mine is riding for Max Cooper's Gumball Downhill Mountain Bike team and has been invited to the huge party they're throwing this weekend. There was talk of him blagging me and a few mates in but he wants to keep Pammy and Jodie Kidd to himself... :(

*mumbled cursing*

I'm going down again this year from nottingham. Made a great day out last year and this time round I've got a better camera and 3x 1Gb ram cards for it, enough for 300 photos on the first then 15 mins of video on each of the other two. I'll make sure it's all posted monday / tuesday next week when I'm back.

I did see that 2 Bugatti Veyrons have signed up this year, not sure if this has been confirmed / denied since a week or two back when I read it tho.

I didn't realise how much it was to enter. Ouch!

As done in past years, loyal past Gumballers will recieve a discount of 25% with the total entry fee being £30,000 (based on 2 persons per car); and £40,000 to new participants.

The entry fee includes accommodation in the most amazing 5-star hotels each night, including the night of registration (Sunday 30th April) throughout the week, until (and including) Monday 8th May. This includes all breakfasts, lunches and dinners, as well as several wild parties. Throughout the week all drivers and co-drivers will share Deluxe double/twin rooms to accommodate two people.

But should be ace. And as to where it is...

This is the start day! Cars will park on “display” in Gumballs own “pit-lane” on Pall Mall (London W1, between Trafalgar Square and St. James Palace) between 1-4 PM, and the flag will drop between 4-6 PM, sending drivers en route to a Midnight checkpoint in Belgium via the Eurotunnel.

So I won't reconise anyone but thought I'd spread the word about it.

ye its gone up this year previously it was about 12k or so to enter but because they are doing 3 continents the price has gone up hugely! all those flights for all those cars! its a big thing but will be a great thing to experience and something i want to do in the future!

Word from the horse's mouth:

Well its less than 1 week to go now until the start of this years Gumball 3000. Preparations where going well with the d3 Evo, until last weekend after our trip to the Nurburgring that is... The car handled everything we could throw at it, it was a really good shake down test for the new car... We stayed in Paris, Brussels, the Nurburgring, then finaly Amsterdam on the Sunday night before coming home on the Bank Holiday Monday. We managed a 9:00 minute lap in the new d3 and as you can see, it was fully loaded. Anyway, on the way home we where offered a new car from my BMW salesman friend......... so we now have a lot of work to do to build the new car...

We have had it now for just under a week, its a new E90 330d M Sport and the preparations on this car are going to plan. All will be revealed on our forum in the next few days: antandpete Forum

On Friday we are taking all 3 cars to the start line: the Silver d1 (220bhp 150mph 1 series), the Silver d2 (220bhp 155mph E90 3 series M Sport 2.0L) and the brand new Silver d3 (already at 320bhp 800Nm and climbing 165mph...) So if anyone wants to join us down there, we are having a VIP night on the friday...

Totally uber...

The torque the torque, if only it had a higher top end, that thing must fly from about 50 all the way up. tbh they are always a good bet, and a great laugh from the videos i have seen, seem like thoroughly top guys, although how two northerners got that much money i dont know :D
