Hi There i want to join a gym for the first time been eatin to many pies:What is the average price you guy's an gal's pay.Do i have to sign up for a long time.Any good offers around.

It really depends where you're located. I have a few gyms around where I live, and the prices vary depending on the deposit you pay in one of them.

Ranges from £20 to £45 per month, and there isn't a minimum time you have to sign up for. I'm actually in the process of trying them all out to see which is the best so I can make my mind up which to join.

I spend £42 a month. Gives me access to everything between 7am and 10pm.

'Which one to join' for me came down to locality and pretentiousness of the people there.

I'm paying £43.50 a month I think but that gets me unlimited access to the gym (aside from when there are classes in the weights room), booking of sports courts, swimming pool and classes are all included. More than I'd really like to pay but then again I easily get my moneys worth considering it is £5.50 a shot otherwise.

I pay £32.50 a month (student rate :)), had to sign up for a 12 month contract but I try and go 3 times a week so its £3.00 a visit or something so not too unreasonable, has a pool, classes, etc and instructors who I see once a month for free too. It's the only decent local gym though so not much choice either though.

I pay £35 a month via direct debit for this I get unlimited access at all times to:

Gym
Health Suite : Sauna, steam room, jacuzzi etc
Pool
Members Parking
Fitness Classes
and anything else they offer

If you get Prudential Health insurance, you can get free gym membership. The catch is that you actually have to go to the gym otherwise they start charging you for membership.

Mine is £45 a month, includes gym, pool, saunas, parking.. Never usually that busy either so can get on the things I want to go on! :)

£21.50 a month for a small-ish gym. I'd like more weight machines especially for the legs, but if you want to keep your fitness up £21 is nothing.

I'm with David Lloyd and even with my works discount it costs £56 a month. (£10 off)

Whilst it is very expensive I do think david lloyd gyms are very good. I can use any of them in the country, and have access to anything (pool, gym, classes, trainer etc)

But at that price, you really must make sure you USE it and get your monies worth !

£26 a month for unlimited off peak gym and unlimited anytime swimming. Not sure about other areas of the sportspark but I think I get a lot of other things.

Mine is £40 a month, the only thing that would cost any extra is a personal trainer, the rest is included. I picked the one I use because I like the atmosphere and the pool is lovely.

I pay £60 at David Lloyd. It is a lot, but I go 5x a week, and so it works out cheaper than paying each time at the local council one. And the quality of bird is much better, particularly the MILFs. ;)
