H70 and a 2600k?

I use an H50 and even that is overkill really. A medium quality Air cooler with enable as high an overclock as an H70
I went for the H50 to run as a very quiet cooler.

On silent, I see a max of 70c running prime 95 at 4.8 22/24c idle
at 5Ghz this rises to 79/80c Prime and 24/26c idle at 5Ghz

at 5.4GHz idle is about 28c - not even bothered trying prime... SuperPi 1M takes temps to arround 60c

What kind of voltages you seeing 70c on prime?

What fans you using for push/pull?

70c at 4.8 = 1.3v Vcore
I have 2 of these http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-059-AK&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=4
Either side of the rad.

They are on the CPU motherboard header and the fan control is set on silent. They get to about 60% fan speed while running prime.

I did start with the single, supplied with H50, fan first of all and that was also fine with temps a few degrees higher. I just wanted the increased airflow while trying to get higher than 5.4... but it made mo real difference to the overclock and these fans are quiet anyway unless pushed at stupid vcore.

Did you use the paste that was already applied to the H50 ?
