Hey guys, new user here. Been a lurker but finally decided to join. :)

Anyway, I've been looking at getting a closed loop water cooling system for my i5. I've recently built my first decent machine, so would like it cooled pretty well. I've done a bit of looking, and it seems like the H70 is a damn decent cooler.

However, I've been hearing about a newer design used in the Kuhler 920 by Antec, which is apparently even better than the H70. Anyone have experience of know how of these two and can say which one is best?

Oh, one thing that attracts me to the H70 is Corsair's warranty. I've heard that they are behind their product to the point that in the rare cases when a cooler leaks, Corsair have personally replaced every component damaged in a leak. I'm not sure if Antec would be that generous?

Thanks. :)

Hi there,

Have you considered a high performance air-cooler like the thermalright silver arrow? if you look at this review you will see that it performs better than the H70 at cooling while also being much quieter and cheaper.

Hey,

I considered an air cooler. But honestly, the size of those thins worry me a bit. I don't like the idea of having all that weight placing stress on the motherboard. I've heard a few stories of warped motherboards due to the sheer weight placed on them by a monster like that.

(I would be replacing the stock fans with GT's if that helps any)

Nah, they are fully sealed - so no worries on that front (unless you decide to stab it for some reason).

Personally I would suggest going for the H50 for the OP's uses (cooling an i5), currently it is only £40 with the "h50promo" code and it uses quieter fans than the H70 so is a quieter cooling solution which still performs well.

Well, depending on how the cooler performs, I want to try and push the chip as hard as possible, which is why I factored the Kuhler 920 into the equation, as I've read reports that it pretty much destroys the H50 and H70, and wanted to see if anyone here could personally confirm that.

Anyone got anything on the 920?

(Also, I don't think I've ever had a thread hijacked this fast before :D)
