Anyone else amazed that Grosjean has retained his seat AGAIN in F1? He's had terrible results the past few years, a rediculous amount of DNF's due to his own doing. He's been living on borrowed time for years yet he still gets a seat year after year and looks like Hulkenberg will not have a seat next year when he actually has some talent.

Unbelievable

Seems that this is one thing no one can understand
Feel sorry for hulk. He's way better than grojean and stable.

Kind of feel there must be something not out in open. I dunno. Maybe he's much much cheaper? Can't be on talent.
Hope it bites them next year. I'm not convinced Renault getting rid of hulk was good idea either

The reason he's been around so long is because he has raw pace. What he doesn't have is consistency. Though at this point you'd think it we'd be past the point where a team will take him on with the view they can coach him to be more consistent and less of a liability, he's had years to sort that out.

Someone that can crash on an outlap going to the grid, crash during a safety car, crash whilst exiting a pit lane aswell as multiple other self inflicted crashes during races should not be in F1.

My favourite one was where the other guy hit him but actually didn't. :D Hopefully Hulkenberg will get a decent drive elsewhere if he can't stay in F1. Could go to WEC i suppose and carry on from the Le Mans win?

What about DC? Ok he crashed on pit entry but still....
DC also binned it in the gravel on the parade lap at Monza in 1995 - from pole. If we're talking stupid incidents, Schumacher crashed with Albers at China in 2006 on the way to the grid. And Hamilton shunted in the pitlane in Canada in 2008. And Heidfeld crashed IN TO the safety car at Brazil in 2002.

But yeah, the frequency with which Grosjean does it makes it less easy to forgive.

I'm not amazed, Haas has access to data and telemetry armchair pundit hasn't. The car has proved to be a extremely difficult one to setup and drive and both the drivers have, just about, managed to cope. Yes some silly instances this year however we do not know anything close to the truth about what caused them. It was a close call between Romain and Nico but to stick with what you know with a car like that, instead of a new driver needing to take sometime to adjust, is probably the right thing to do..

Sounds like it wasn't a close call at all, Hulkenberg simply priced himself out of the seat. Grosjean is cheaper. Haas are playing the short game to get money in for next year now, instead of earning more from a better WCC result at the end of next year (due to the better results Hulk would probably bring) to offset his higher wages.

It's all about cost for these teams, they're probably gaining or losing more money on driver costs and the associated sponsorship funding they bring with them than they could possibly hope to recover from a better driver getting them a place higher in the standings.

So has Lewis though, and also ran into the back of Kimi waiting at a red light at the end of the pits. Couldn't imagine making those mistakes now though. Seems DC actually made more mistakes the more experience he gained.

Doesn't Grosjean have sponsorship from Total? Perhaps he only takes a small portion of that and hands a good chunk over the team.
