Hey folks, just had an interview for Customer Service Rep with Vodafone earlier today. The whole affair was 3 hours long, with an interview, computer literacy test, numeracy test, 3x written case studies, group discussion and role play.
Sad to say, I'm not sure how it went. I'm sure most of my answers are ok but I have a less-than-perfect phone voice and I'm afraid I spoke too fast!
Anyway if I get this job ... first thing about it, it's pretty handy! One of those just-above-min-wage jobs that you don't have to take your work home, pretty much zero stress. The starts are late too (between 11am and 2pm) so if I really get my act together I'll join the gym and get into some form of routine. So here's hoping I get the job.
Anyway I arrived home and my dad started enquiring about the job. I just left an accounting job that was driving me mad and after years of my dad telling me what to do I pretty much cracked... so our convo went something like this:
Is it a minimum wage? Nah it's slightly about min wage (It's €5,500 more than minimum wage but that's not what he was getting at... it's €20k instead of €28k I could earn as a part-qualified accountant and much more I could earn as a fully qualified accounting in a few years, and it's much less than the €65k he used to be on)
Opportunity for career advancement? Prob not
Can you get a promotion? Probably
How much extra would you get? About 25c (I made that up completely)
Some people would take the promotion even though it's not that much extra money. Ahh, I prob won't bother, I'm just going to take it easy and relax. (more or less implying that if it keeps me in style and drinking money I'll be happy enough)
If I'd known it would bother him so much I probably would have applied to McDonalds (no offence to McDonald's employees!)
I mean, I wish I was qualified for something else (bar accounting) and may do primary teaching next year but for the mean time I just want to do something I don't hate. Can any one see any problems with that?
