Half-Life 2: The Black Box is no more

Aslong as I can still buy them seperately on Steam I won't mind. I'm not paying for 2 games I already own. I already own two copies of Half Life 2 as well.

Wow that suks I was looking forward to playing it, if I bought an HD2900XT I would be very very angry

So long as Episode 2 can be bought separately I'll probably get it.
If I'm forced to buy load of stuff that I don't need then I'll have to think about it.

I know they say you can sell the keys for the other products if you don't want them, but I can't see them going for much if at all.
Most people who want to play HL2 and Episode 1 have probably already done so, and when everybody buys episode 2 the market is going to be flooded with people trying to off load their extra copies.

It sounds like Valve are getting greedy and forcing me to buy what I don't need or want. I hope I'm wrong though and that I can buy just the content I want.

Surely ATi and Valve have some kind of contract???
What about ATi and the customer??? Do they have a right to demand that their voucher be redeemable???

Are you guys for real?
The 'Orange Box' won't be the only way to get Episode 2, that's a ridiculous notion.

Valve have always sold Half Life compilation packs, but only for people who don't already have Ep 1, etc. The games will be released individually as always.

Also, I'm sure they'll honour the 2900XT vouchers too.

surely to get a new game you dont have to buy games you already own on steam ? if you do then thats madness, can see a lot of cracked copys being downloaded if this is the case .

Did valve even happen to bloody engage there brains and think they had just said out 100'000s of vouchers with ATi cards, I mean well how would you feel youv'e bought a card it runs like a **** house and now you dont get the 20-30 quid game you were promised which just happened to actually make the deal sweeter. It's joke this, it really is.

even valve can;t optimise half-life2 ep2 to run faster on ati hardware this time. thats why they have both decided its best to flapp it from their agreement.

Where on earth did you pull that from, sometimes you just make this stuff up for yourself you really do.

I think I may just take my 8800GTS down for sale :), at least taking this black box deal off should lower the prices abit, so the £252 HD2900XT should come down to around £220 :)

this is gonna be real funny, i rekon these guys will get to play the game for free regardless of what happens ;)

I just wouldn't bother with the card full stop right now, honestly. Sit it out and see how the situation develops.

With the current problems with it i wouldn't even pay £220

Imagine with the current state of these [performance wise] what they would fetch on MM? I just hope ATI do sort this out for people who have paid good money for a card that just does not perform.

I want to know if its a hardware problem or driver problem, if its a driver problem it may be worth buying the HD2900XT, but if its a hardware problem then I guess the HD2900XT are not worth even £200.
