Half-Life 2: The Black Box is no more

I have a feeling it only is for people who are buying the black box retail rather than those who got it with the gfx card, what is it with all this anti-ati stuff lately even a hint of something going wrong and you all go mad :eek:

Worst case you get it converted to a Orange voucher as said above

In addition i cant see a link to a conformation on that site by valve or ati

Nvidia: Hey Valve, let's have partnership for our upcoming G90 series.. *shows statistics* - 3 times more powerful that x2900xtx.

Valve: Interesting, but we have a partnership with ATi already.
Nvidia: Such parnership can always be *cough* *erhm*always another alternative.
Valve: well ok, since G90 will bring much better name and partnership for us in the future!!!!

Its only the Retail 'Black Box' thats been cancelled (the one you buy in the shops etc...), you can still get it through Steam, so the x2900 owners don't need to worry as they will still get theirs. :)

I would get out more if you feel so seriously about people being negative about a piece of plastic, metal and silicon. :)

Don't get me started about Valve. HL2 looks like it's a great game. But the company behind it don't appear to have a functional brain cell between them.

I don't agree with all the caps but the guy has a point. The amount of crap on this forum over the last week has been borderline trolling. :)
 
Did that report actually say that if you happen to have these games already you can just give away your codes as you won't be needing them? Bassically you'd be paying $30 for someone else to get the chance to play Half Life, hah!

Who wants to hand out free codes?
 
prob cos they arent allowed to suggest selling on at a profit as that would imply allowing competition or summin crazy

How has it?

As far as I can see this is a forum for enthusiast PC builders to share views, and all I have seen about the HD2900XT are people echoing what the reviewers have found. Which is that it's slower than the 8800GTS in most games and this is echoed by several views and driver support isn't as refined as ATi have been renound for in the past.

Trolling is wrecking a thread with content that doesn't concern it, or using abusive language looking for a response.
 
The jumping on anything remotely possibly anti ATI at this point is ridiculous. The article clearly states the retail blackbox has been canned.

From this suddenly is proof from thin air that all is lost for 2900XT owners, that they've been shafted, and they should go on a rampage destroying ATI HQ. Sometimes a spoon is just a spoon.

Tried to register my card today, no DOD:S, instead they are offering all Ati owners a free copy of HF:LC and HF2 deathmatch, and 50% of halflife 2.
So, I guess I really have to go out and dish out more money for ep2 and portal when I bought Ati because I would at least get these games for free :rolleyes:
If the driver issue, fan noise isn't solved very soon, there shall be a HD2900XT for sale soon :(

I've just activated mine, and it goes through fine......downloading Day of defeat now?
 
Weird, perhaps its just me :p
I click on the link placed on my desktop when i installed the drivers, but I still get this.
If I type in the address manually, it says I have a billing error.
I'm annoyed...

Download steam, click on Activate a product on steam. Works a treat. If I go to the website, then it says something about a billing error. But it works fine through steam. :)

LOL a whole thread on the black box being pulled? Seriously, if the voucher is part of the sales pitch it has to be honoured, can you imagine the legal headache if ATi/Valve welched? FUD at it's finest :rolleyes:

When I activate the product key, it doesn't say anything about the AMD/ATI bundle :confused: when should it appear? I don't get a message or anything :(
it did re-download DOD:Source though, which I already had :rolleyes:
