I'm currently designing a set of pendular rudder pedals for DCS, my old TM RCS are old and tired now so looking to make something a bit more substantial and accurate with toe brakes.

I have most of the chassis and mechanism designed and going to be using a Leo Bodnar encoder board to drive it and planning on three Hall sensors for the axes.

Does anyone know if Hall sensors need the magnet to rotate about the central axis of the sensor or does it work based on relative distance away from the magnet? Just trying to get my head around the layout of the sensors before I have to redesign it :D

Appreciate that this might not be the best place to ask but someone might know!
