Halo 2 hits 5 million players

I wish I could take my unique live account score back off them. I'm new to the halo party and its the worst shooter ive played in memory.

I dont even want the 3rd if it was bought for me.

Some people have absolutely no taste what so ever ;)

Try Halo 1 single player, then halo 2 single player then Halo2 mp. and you will change your mind.

Infact if you gave the MP more than 10 min of your time you might have enjoyed it

That's 5 million unique Live accounts now seen and played on Halo 2. For a game that's 'nothing new' 'not special' 'boring and dire' 'poor multiplayer' 'not a patch on Half Life 2' it sure is thrashing everything else currently out.
StarCraft walks all over those figures :)

See you in the beta :)

Krono mate, I bet he's never even played any of the Halo games!

He played 10 min and thinks it is like walking in space apparently, the guns feel like toys. As I wasn't in that game (I joined about 10 min later) I cant say for certian, but I think he probably was using the SMG or the Plasma rifles.

Halo is a more complex game than GRAW or GOW. there is a lot more strategy than who shoots first wins (although that can be the case) IMO you need to know what you are doing and the capabilities of all the weapons to enjoy the game.

Additionally unlike GRAW and GOW the maps are so well put together that they are not linear in any way you can take shortcuts, jump from point a to point b cutting our a long walk across the map. This is not due to the jump feature alone, but the design of the map that allows for these pixel perfect jumps.

This game easily requires more skill than any other console fps game I have played.

Thats the thing, people play 1 game of matchmaking and think they have it sussed and "its crap" because the enemy wiped the floor with them. I was getting raped for months in it before I started enjoying and winning almost every game.

Now Im at about 50-60% of my old skill level I just dont have the will to play it anymore because of all the cheaters and quiters unfortunatly :(

With Halo 3 hopefully they will have the cheating + suiciding problem solved, nothing they can do about quiters though :/

I played for longer than 10 minutes, I've also tried the SP. I'm new to console gaming from a shooter POV. For me though it's still the worst one yet that I've played. Perhaps I expected so much more with everyone wetting themselves over 3.

I dont really know the words to describe it but to me the game didnt feel right. I know its a space game where your Buzz Lightyear but I prefer something like gears or Graw or any other shooter where it feels like your firing a weapon rather than a stick with a laser.

Its just personal preference. :)

You can keep you gay little space game where your Buzz and Alriks Woody :p

Halo is not bad for a console based FPS, I wasn't to into the 2nd ones single player tbh never bothered to get too far.

I was thinking of picking halo 2 up for the mp on 360, how hard is it to get into?

PC is still king of FPS games imo.

^It depends on who you play with, how long you play for and if you give it a chance. If you play about 3 hours a night 3-4 times a week you should pick it up in no time, even though the single player isnt great I would still recommend it to get used to the weapons + aiming.

It's a lot like Counterstrike in that new players will hate it simply because they will get their ass handed to them for the first couple of months. The best thing to do is enter the BTB matches, where you're in a bigger team, with more freedom to get a feel for the combat, weapons and teamplay. Heading into rumble pits in small arenas such as Beaver Creek with several other bloodthirsty players is going to put any first timers off for life.
