I'm fairly sure I read you can.
K I am a PC gamer but recently purchased a xbox for a more casual pick up and play gaming.
Only problem is I do not understand xbox live, I have paid for the 3 month subscription but I don't really understand what I am getting for my money?
I have HALO3 for example but can never find a good game to join? e.g how do I simply browse all the servers to pick a 16 man map ect? All I can seem to achieve is 4 way death match

Its not like PC gaming where you simply browse servers, the only way to play exactly what you want is to have a Custom game and invite friends. But if its 16 man games you want they've just added Big Team Battle to the matchmaking playlists.
Halo 3 has its own matchmaking system which I think is great, but others will no doubt disagree. Gears of War is a game which lets you browse servers to an extent as in you put in which map, gametype etc you want then it will return with a list of games.
Edit: Plus with Halo 3 and Forge, people hosting their own games would be a stupid idea because the host could just simply create his own map+gametype variations and give himself all the advantages while the enemy is at a complete disadvantage.

atm I seem to just being playing guitar hero and lots of fun game demos (tennis, footy, doa4, racing games) nothing much online yet as I could not work out what I was doing wrong

I just forget to save some of my games since it wont let me save them unless I leave the party and by the time I do leave at the end of the night I've forgot all about it.

I did although looking at it in very slow motion it seems as if all stickies are now magnetic as in they will attatch themselves if they come within a certain radius, not knocking the kill it was damn funny just I've noticed the sticks seem to not go straight through people anymore like they did in Halo 2.
