HALP! Updated my phone and have now lost everything!

I decided to update my Nokia N95 as it has never been updated, I backed it up in the way I was suggested but I have no completely lost everything! The only thing i am really bothered about is my contacts. Is there any way to get my contacts back

Well there isn't if you have lost everything and the backup didn't work.

actually there, just spoke to O2 and they should be able to retrieve them for me
