Hi there

We truly believe this to be a deal. Let us know what you think, remember this is a true HD Ready TV, HDMI, DVI-D, 2xSCART, TV Tuner. From my web research all other Etailers seem to be approx £100 more, so is this a deal?

Anybody who wants one do buy now as if this truly is a great deal then they will sell out as we only have 500 and there will be no more.

P.S. Remember our competitors listing this same model is not actually the same. As ours have HDMI port too and if you check specifications elsewhere you will find no HDMI port. :)

Looks pretty good!

I too am wondering about the response time on this. The Q17 I have right now is at 8ms and that is fine for all things I do. Does anyone think the 18ms on this cause any problems for gaming etc?

Cheers.

Ok, i was gonna go for a 24" pc monitor but if this is so cheap i might get this and invest in a wireless keyboard and mouse
Anybody have any info on gaming performance??

EDIT: Also does this have D-Sub input?

Hi gibbo, does this tv have component inputs for using a 360 on it?

Cheers

Ah 16ms is a wee bit better :)

Still a little reluctant though as I've never seen an LCD @ 16ms running before. Anyone who has one similar give me their opinion on how it runs for gaming (PC)?

Cheers

Hi there

This is not a true monitor. Its primary role is TV so for a PC its resolution is pretty poor at just 1366x768. However some people do run their PC's off LCD TV's at 1366x768 and think its perfectly fine. :)

Physical impossibility as that tv doesn't have that resolution, some of the top range TV's do though and they are 1080P ready (also advertised as FULL HD ready).

Well in the description it says 1080i....what does it mean by that then.

I thought that meant that it was 1080 pixels down and interlaced.

I got that from here: Wikipedia 1080i

1080i is the shorthand name for a category of video modes. The number 1080 stands for 1080 lines of vertical resolution, while the letter i stands for interlaced or non-progressive scan.

I have been reading here: http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=409129

And it says:

Many 50" plasma screens, for example, have a resolution of 1366x768. Most so-called high-definition 42" plasmas have a resolution of 1024x768. But they are still able to accept a 1080i signal at the input. That signal is deinterlaced and then downscaled to the resolution of the screen.

Proabaly the same in this case.

I maybe wrong but 1080i is a lot worse to 1080P.

With 1080i I think it's actually a much lower resolution, but one frame it shows one picture and the other picture it shows another picture, it does it so fast they become paired to the eyes so it looked like one image, whereas 1080P is progressive so the image is also 1920X1080?

You are mixing up 1080i and 1080P, it will manage 1080i but 1080P looks better than 1080i

Correct 1080i is worse than 1080p.

OK yes but i wasnt referring to the image quality i was refering to the resolution you could get if you connect your pc through the hdmi.

Because 1080i suggests that you would get a resolution of 1080 down, or as shown in the post above not (it suggests that it gets downscaled).

Well if it's down scaled it's not really 1080P is it? May aswell use 720P as thats what it'll probably be scaled down to.
Anything that broadcasts at 1080P will surely have a option fo other settings like 720P.
