Hiya all,

well my missus is tipping up early for my Christmas pressie and im after a new monitor for my pc. I currently use a syncmaster2033sw and game at 1600x900 and ive seen one of these babys as in the title at a really stupid price. I was wondering if they are any good?? Does anyone know?? Also I have a pair of GTX275's in sli and I was wondering will they be fine powering this size screen at 1920x1200 resolution?
Any advice would be great, Ta

Your 275 GTXs in SLI will be more than powerful enough to power a 1920x1200 monitor. In fact, that graphics configuration is a good chunk faster than a GTX 295 card.

However, I wouldn't suggest going for the HannsG 28in. Sure, its big. But it is all very much Quantity vs Quality, and that has a lot of quantity. Personally, if I was going to pay that king of money, i'd be wanting a non-TN panel, however these are rather expensive for 22in>.

May I suggest a Dell 2209WA as an upgrade to your 20in samsung. This dell uses a fantastic e-IPS panel. In fact, it is so good I would reccommend it against any other monitor in the £250 or less range.

ive ordered one tonight mixed reviews tbh, some ppl say they are good some say they are no good, look on you tube aswell some ppl have reviewed them and they look good, i have asked the same question tonight as you and the 1st poster has advised me against buying one too.
After reading reviews i have come to the conclusion unless you have owned one or own one you cant really tell what the monitor is like but from what ive read on reviews im more than happy to take the plunge.

Ocuk click on reviews: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-025-OK&tool=3

been living with one of these for about three or four weeks now, i love it. for the money ive spent on my pc this has to be my best investmant. That being said i didnt go into the purchase with my eyes closed, i had read many reviews, looked at alternatives in that size range and weighd up the savings over things like viewing angle's/couler shift etc.

The closest monitor in the price to size ratio uses the same pannel but with 1:1 pixel mapping, i dont own a ps3 so this wasnt even a concideration for me.
Couler shift can be an issue when more than four foot away watching movies but thats why i have a £1000+ surround sound in my living room and a 42" tv, i game on mine and for that its exactly what i need. Fps are immense on a 28" monitor, the copulers are vivid, response times are sharp with no ghosting/input lag.
so as long as you remember when you unpack it that you paid what you paid the for it and dont go expecting the quality of the closest sized dell which is a princly £560 you will be great, that said its well built, steardy enough to sit on your desk and be looked at for the whole of its life without the risk of things falling off, that and three years on site warrenty mean its a steal in my book.

Now i have a monitor of this size i just couldnt go back to anything smaller!

just thought id add you really need to tweak the settings on th ebrightness, it comes out of the box all on full so it is a little off puttiing when it blinds you untill you realise and adjust to suit!

owned one (well, may be exact same. but 28" HannsG 1920x1200) screen for about a year or so. Have to say i love it. Res is perfect for the screen size, and the amount of real estate you get is immense. Could never go back to a 22-24 now, and it plays nicely with my360/PS3 too. Dont use the speakers, so cant comment on sound quality.

Thanks for all the help fellas, ive decided Im going to go for it. Its only going to be used as my pc monitor as like someone posted earlier I too have a nice surround system (Bose) and a nice bid tv in the front room for watching my sports and movies. This is goin in the spare room for the pc and the missus can keep her hands off haha!! See only plays Bejeweled Blitz!! Im wanting to rev up Crysis and Arma2 on it and see what it looks like. Cheers again
