I ordered an item from another site (Won't say who, and no it doesn't rhyme with Can, or Pan, Or Man) because overclockers were out of stock and this was the only place I could find that was in stock! So I ordered it, and I get a text saying payment was rejected please contact the site that doesn't rhyme with tan. So I did, and this is where it all started.

From the moment I rang I knew I was in trouble. *ring ring* "Hello adjhkasd" (Yes he mumbled, didn't know what the hell he said) I rang up, and was kind and as enthusiastic as possible and I mentioned how my card was declined for some strange reason, would it be ok to try again. And the way the guy spoke to me, it was like he didn't care and didn't wanna work there. He was like "whats up" yes my card was declined. "Ok." ... OK, so would it be possible to try again please? "yep, take the card number" xxxxxxxxxx *A massive sigh from the operator* nope, your card was declined. Oh! well thats strange, can I try my mastercard instead them.. *massive sigh again* "Yep can I take the number again" Certainly its xxxxxxxx *one final sigh* "Declined again". Oh! Well something is going wrong, can you hold my order and I will call back after contacting my bank please? "yes" Great thanks..

as I hang up the line I just say What a ****.

So anyway I contact my bank, turns out there was just an assumed security breach on my account due to a "irregular spending routine" lol I don't even have a routine but nevermind, but they had blocked my accounts until I had checked with them.

So anyway I ring back, I get the same person "hello asdas" Hi, I have just spoken to my bank can I try again with my payment please? "Ok. "Ok payment has gone through" Great! I rang on my mobile and as I was saying thanks and about to say my goodbyes I got a text saying order was processed with XXXX. I said hang on mate, you put my wrong card through, I don't want it on my credit card I wanted it put on the first card I tried to use. (Come on, at least ASK which card you want me to use don't just assume, NEVER assume) "Oh ok, give me the card you want to use and I will put that through" Can you refund my card first please? "I will do that once this payment has gone through" hmm, ok then. Well my card number is xxxxxx. "Ok thats gone through, anything else?" Can you refund my card now please? " yes...... ok done that" great thanks, "ok" Cya and I hung up.

The guy was so uninterested, so unenthusiastic made me feel really uncomfortable over the phone and I just wanted to get off as soon as I started the 'conversation'

But yes, thats my slight horror story of the first time I have ever used a different site to OCUK and I must say, I am glad I am an avid, loyal spender with these guys and mainly in part to how fantastic their customer service is, and compared to the competition its just miles and miles ahead.

Y'know, I had to call the same company today to check an addressing discrepancy after I placed an order (something OcUK doesn't stock, unfortunately) and while it was a simple matter and easily sorted out, the guy I spoke to sounded equally unenthusiastic. As though he simply couldn't be bothered being there and I was wasting his valuable time. Even the goodbye was mumbled disinterestedly.

Methinks they need to work on that.

I love all of the customers I deal with, apart from when they are buying better systems and components than me! :( :p

In all seriousness, all customers I have dealt with are fantastic, have great conversations, interesting to see what people buy and what feedback they give about the products they have and so forth. I also love helping out where I can, and so does everybody else that works at Overclockers UK.

But everyone at OcUK are enthusiastic, fantastic and everyone that works there put in 100% effort in. Makes me proud to be within the team. :)

OcUK is generally a really positive cheery atmosphere! Negativity is just not tolerated :)

Everyone here is happy to help the customer any way within our means!

+1 to 5UB, makes me proud to be part of the team too :D

Just for the other side of the coin I havent bought any PC components in a while, but due a negative experience with OCUK I'm not using them for the next purchases I need to make.

Had to deal with a competitor of OcUK yesterday at work, they rhyme with fresh.

Oh my freaking good lord. Couldn't even give me an ETA on an outstanding order that has been 'allocating parts' for 13 days. This is on top of the 14 days BEFORE I asked where the order was and they told me that a certain processor had been pulled by Intel and didn't anyone contact me about this? No you didn't.

27 Days to build a PC. (They haven't even built it yet)

OcUK as always are awesome though.

Please can you post in the Customer Services section regarding the experience, and I will sort you out, and I am sure I can help you shop with us again. :)

Every company can have ups and downs, so I am sure I will be able to help you.

I tried mate, played email tennis with customer services quite a few times. I had a thread in here, which vanished, so if it hasn't been deleted it's been moved into an area where everyone can't see it, but you should be able to, all the details are in there.

The only time I've had to call OcUK was over a DoA B-grade HDD.

The process was sooooo straight forward, and the guy I spoke to was ultra helpful, very friendly and suggested I considered X HDD instead if I wanted to re-order. Easily the best customer support I've ever received over the phone. This was a while back though - at least 4 years.

Other places I've had to RMA through have been mediocre at best TBH.

Try working within a company and dealing with suppliers who act like we, the customers, are a chore!

I hate being on the phone to people who clearly can't be arsed.

I called the SALES of the guys the OP had trouble with. Normally the sales department are all overly enthusiastic. The guy just mumbled and spoke crap. Only reason i ever ordered with them is because of the TJ07 and they use much better packaging than OcUK

I only ever shop elsewhere if it's something OcUK don't sell!

Never ordered from the OPs people, always thought their website looked a bit *****.

Agreed, unfortunately -shudders- I'll have to be ordering from them soon, OcUK don't stock the side panel window for cm 690. It'd be great if they did. :(

I live just around the corner from the place you mentioned and have regularly nipped into the shop if I need something quickly,

The staff on customer service are just an uninterested there as the phone staff and god forbid anything break and you have to use technical support in store, Not sure if the guy is still there (this was 4-5 years ago) but oh my god he was the most arrogant bar steward I have ever met

I took back a faulty GPU the conversation went as follows,

me :- "hi, I bought this GPU from you and it works fine for a while but once I have been playing for over 30 mins or so it gives me a BSOD"

him :- "yeah it's not the card, you have your pc set up wrong"

me :- "I don't think so as it was working perfectly before I put this card in"

him :- "It's the drivers then, you havn't installed them"

me :- "I have and I even removed all traces of old drivers just to make sure"

him :- "Look, I have a setup here that I will put it on just to prove to you that it isn't faulty"

He put the GPU into the setup ran 3dmark and it had the BSOD within 5 minutes

him :- "yeah it's faulty, go and pick up your replacement from the desk"
