Hmm, not sure what to make of this. I know that it's fairly well known that the N95 slider mechanism isn't the best the mobile world has ever seen, but is it really such a common thing, and do you guys who notice yours being even a bit loose in whichever direction, do you mind it at all?

It's quite off putting sometimes, esp compared to the slider on the 8800, which feels solid as a rock, and even my old Samsung D500, there was never any movement.

Also, my keypad is creaking a bit, especially the numbers 2 and 0. Everytime I press them it feels like it catches somewhere behind and kind of double clicks, if that makes any sense. So I'm a bit hmmm, with this meant to be such a high end phone. Other than that, stunning piece of gadgetry  Thinking as to whether to pop into an Orange shop to see if they'll swap me a new one...

What are you guys' experiences with your N95s?

:)

My slider kinda wobbles a bit but nothing to cause me any great concern. There is a guide somewhere on the net on how to fix the loose slider but i havent had the time to try and fix mine.

Saying that though my bro just got one on o2 and his slider doesnt wobble like mine does...lucky bugger:p

Perfectly happy with mine, yeh the slider isn't the best but I don't notice it tbh. And if its anything like all the others i've had it should be pretty bulletproof, my N80 had a habit of drinking red bull and vodka and that survived :D. And i've lost count of the times I dropped my 6680 and that just came back for some more.

The wobbly slider really annoyed me initially but I'm not so fussed now. Hopefully it doesn't get any worse. I tried a friend's E65 the other day and the slider is brilliant - shame the design couldn't be transferred.

Other than the slider, the rest of it feels just fine compared to my older sony ericssons.

i guess i'm a lucky one then, not had any problems with mine so far except no reception where i've been working these past few days :p the only worry i do have is the battery(of course, but was expecting this) and the fact that the mechanism for the camera cover is only active on one side, and the shutters kind of taper as it's closing, so go closer on one side than the other and this can;t be good for the phone.

What battery life do you get? I can go 3 days without charging for general use (about 30 texts and 20 mins calls a day)

Managed to drop mine on the pavement this morning, so the casing looks a little bit mashed! Screen is fine though. It was only a matter of time before something happened - before this morning, it had slipped off the bonnet of my car (remained unscathed) and fallen onto my treadmill at the gym which sent it flying across the gym floor. It's sturdier than expected.
