I've had my phone about a year now I couldn't turn it on without taking out the battery for about an hour first. So I thought I'd to upgrade the firmware but there was an error now I can't connect it to the computer, no light on the usb port when I do.

Now I was thinking should I send it back to Sony under warranty I've tried a local shop who says it'll be £35. Or does anyone know a cheaper repair place ?

If that works then you can flash a stock image to it. If it doesn't and you're not rooted or already running custom firmware then get it done via warranty repairs.

I took it to a shop and they said it would be £35 to repair ! When I said I'd just have the phone back turns out it's been repaired anyway. I offered £20 they accepted, but I didn't have the money silly me. I think they've put android 2.3.4 on it is that the most up to date that will go on ?
