Hard drives are bigger and cheaper.. how do people fill them legally?

Terabytes... Pfft

So it looks like its just accepted that the majority of people filling 1tb + are probably doing so with downloaded dvds or music.

Someone made a good point about connections. 50mb is only of use if you are hammering Usenet

I would say 90% of people with 1TB or over fill them with illigal materials. For example, music, applications and movies. 10% legally fill it with personal photos, music, movies, applications, documents and system restores.

I only have a 250GB laptop, this has an OS on, purchased applications and purchased music, Not even 40GB full.

My music collection alone is quickly approaching 500gb, i have a 500gb and a 640, so do not have space to keep a back up. I'm thinking of relegating my 500gb to a mobile caddy and buying one or two massive drives for storage, if I suffer a drive fail right now, i would be very upset.

You're begging for it really! Sort a backup out :p

Don't I know it! Especially when you can get a massive drives for about 50 quid... I've got a lot of rare, random unknown stuff that I really can't loose.

Infact sid it, you just convinced me.. I've been meaning to upgrade my storage for ages.

How to fill TB drives?

Buy Fraps and record games on high resolution at high frame rates.

Hell, my Fraps storage is almost as big as my illegal downloads stash.
