has anyone met there real dad later in life?

Not seen my father since I was about 7. We both agreed recently by letter we would not meet. Although I am curious, we both have new lives that don't include each other.

My dad threw me down the stairs when I was 9 months old and beat up my mother for years beforehand. Luckily, my mum managed to catch me before there was too much damage (I'm normal, as far as I know :p) from the fall.

Later that day, my mum came home in the car with the weekly shopping which had to last a long time back then, she said. My dad freaks out and hi-jacks her car whilst I'm still in the back. My mum screams for me and he stops further down the road, puts me in the road in my baby seat and drives off with all the shopping, and the car.

Never seen him since, and neither has my mother. I don't want to see him though, 'cause I'll just want to kill him.

He's served time for drugs, attempted murder and he's an alcoholic wreck.

All I can say is, thank god he never stayed in my life; it would've had such a massive and negative affect on me.

I've walked down the street sometimes with my older brother or my auntie and they've later said I've walked past my father when I've been out. They don't even dare point him out.
