Has anyone used HD Fury with a 1680*1050 VGA monitor?

trying to find out whether the hd fury gamer edition is a viable option for my bro's PS3 rather than buying a new tv.

anyone know if the quality is any good at this resolution? as its neither 720p or 1080p.

Might have been me but when I tried it the screen looked like it had been divided into sections.
