Has anyone used the H50 with the pre-applied thermal material?

I just noticed this on a video review and I was wondering if anybody had actually tested it. I am planning to use a line of AS5 on my i7, as directed on the Arctic Silver website. This makes me wonder if I could just not bother though.

i have tested both but also used mx-3 and there was only a 1c differance so i would use either would be ok tbh.

Ahh cool. If it's that small of a difference I think I might save myself some hassle and just try it with the pre-applied compound and see how it goes.

I fitted my Dad's one with the pre-applied TIM, and his temps are fine..

Same here - bought some MX-3, but never bothered as I was more than happy with the temps using the pre-applied.

Also, because of the twist-lock mechanism, I imagine not using the pre-applied stuff would be a bit fiddly.
