Hatton - Mayweather lined up for this year

I don't think the fight will happen, not at 140lbs anyway. Mayweather would win but have a few rough moments IMO.

Mayweather is just too slick and skilled for Hatton IMO. He has more power than people seem to think and his speed is frightening. Judah had a better chance to beat Mayweather than Hatton does in my opinion.

The one doubt that I have stems from the trouble that Mayweather had against Castillo in the first fight (Hatton and Castillo aren't too dissimilar), however Mayweather did much better in the rematch

I don't think so, Mayweather is no doubt a great fighter, but Hatton has the best technique for body punching I have seen in years. I think his body punches will beat Mayweather.

Either way it'll be a great fight should it happen.. Im leaning towards Ricky for this one as I dont think PBF has the power to stop him in his tracks, when Ricky clearly does.

IMO

It would be a great fight and Judah would have had a good chance, before his unexpected loss, but Ricky has a good chance now, his style would make for a great encounter, although Mayweather would be the obvious favourite, he knows he'd be in for a real test.

I really hope this happens and my old mate Rotty gets me a programme again please. ;)

make that 2 programs ;)

The fight will happen. Now the welterweight division has been cleared of a unified title holder, if PBF is after a big payday there's either Mosley at light middle or even Winky at middleweight which to me is one hell of a step for him [Mosely probably but not Winky Wright - way to classy/strong/big etc]. Hatton is the biggest and nearest fight he can go for so bar any upsets, the fight will happen.

I feel the fight will be UD in favour of PBF just because of his superior movement but it will be the fight of his life and if anyone can give him a scrap, there is no-one other than the Hitman. I wish Ricky all the best...

not the biggest boxin buff here, but my money would be on Mayweather, he destroyed some people big time.
No-one as good as Hatton though. Castillo caused PBF problems and I'd put Hatton above him any day.

I'd give the slight edge to PBF should the fight come off, his speed and movement should be enough to give him the points decision. However, if Ricky can turn it into a scrappy fight, and land some of those huge body shots, PBF's speed and movement will disappear and it then becomes a whole new fight. It's an interesting mix of styles and though I would give PBF the slight edge, it's not something I'd put money on either way.

Oh, and make it 3 programmes :D

He needs to be able to get close enough and land though ;)

Since the fight would be in the US and that Mawyeather will be the home fighter, the referee will not allow Hatton to use the style he did vs Tsyzu.

Hopefully it was just blood obscuring his vision but even Mausa made Hatton miss a lot of the times with simply moving his head back a bit

So has Hatton, including Tszyu, which I predicted he would stop him 2/3 in. I don't believe he will stop Mayweather, he will have to knock him out, which I don't believe he can. I would have my money on a Hatton points decision based on bodyshots.

Ah yes but ricky can close the gap between himself and his opponent in no time at all, so regardless of whether PBF is dancing about the ring, imo ricky wouldnt give him the time to settle into a boxing rythmn.

The fight wouldnt be anything like the Tzyu fight, PBF would never go toe to toe with ricky because he knows he cant stand upto a fight like that. I think ricky has about the best chance of beating PBF as anyone in the LW division as I think his style is ideal for pressurising PBF into making mistakes.

Make no mistake, it will be one hell of a close fight, but i think ricky has the tools needed to put PBF on his backside. Im gonna predict (for when the fight actually happens) a late stoppage, probably TKO in rds 9-11 for the hitman (with it being pretty much equal on the cards) :D

As for Maussa, well he's just a freak with no realy style, although he does have a very long body that makes it easier for him to lean to dodge punches plus he's armed with the fact no-one (himself included probably) can tell what hes going to do.

Slightly OT, but did anyone see Baldomir make Judah do the chicken dance again, followed by Judah trying to dump tackle him :D Classic..

I'm not saying Hatton can't win but he will have to change his style or he will get warnings/points taken off by the referees. I like Hatton, I do think he is the best British fighter for some time now but he does have his flaws and he does use some rough 'techniques' at times like rushing with his head down, clinching and hitting, pushing and landing a body shot straight after etc...

He will get to Floyd at some point in the fight but not enough to win the fight IMO

** Junior Witter has been announced as Mayweathers mandatory challenger for the WBC title :D **

Could throw a spanner in the works if Mayweather decides to face him.

Witter would be totally out of his class and I can't see Mayweather deciding to take him on, I think he'd rather have Hatton any day of the week.
