Hi all, if you could give me a quick yes/no to this question it would be great!

My current set-up consists of an ADSL wireless router downstairs where the connection comes into the house. I want to receive the wireless signal in my bedroom upstairs and a wired option is not possible. My desktop PC and Xbox do not have wireless capability.

I bought a 'D-Link Wireless G Open Source Access Point DAP-1160'. I thought this would be able to pick up the wireless signal and distribute it through it's two Ethernet ports but after an evening of trying to configure it I have not had any joy.

So, am I just 'doing it wrong' or can this access point do what I want?

(I did research this this option through these and other forums and thought it could do what I want - I didn't just blind-fire buy it!)

I think you want it in bridge mode. AP client means it will just act as a wireless AP as far as I know.

Set it to bridge mode and see if the ports do anything!

EDIT

After flicking through the manual AP Client mode looks like it might work
