Me and my mate are driving to Plymouth, and I let him have a swig of my drink.

After I have had a swig out the same bottle to which he says there is a slight possibility that he might have HIV because when he was in deployment in Africa he nailed an African bird there and the condom ripped and he has itchy balls and girth syndrome.

Can you pass on HIV by saliva, because I'm thirsty and it was a fresh bottle.

There's an infinitesimally small chance that you could contract HIV in the situation you have described, but you may have to be the unluckiest person in the world for it to happen.

If you are concerned and this isn't a troll thread, get yourself tested ~3 months after you believe you may have been infected.

Can I become infected with HIV through normal social contact/activities such as shaking hands/toilet seats/swimming pools/sharing cutlery/kissing/sneezes and coughs?

No. HIV is not an airborne, water-borne or food-borne virus, and does not survive for very long outside the human body. Therefore ordinary social contact such as kissing, shaking hands, coughing and sharing cutlery does not result in the virus being passed from one person to another.

It wouldn't be called Anally Injected Death Syndrome if you could catch it through your mouth would it?

Don't worry.
