Just bought a new comp Core 2 Duo the works etc.

Anyway I've bought a Asus P5N32-SLI (http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=11&l3=227&model=1280&modelmenu=2) and also a Tagan TG580-U15 580W (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Tagan_Power_Supplies.html). Just put it all together and went to finally plug in the power connectors to find that the power supply uses a 20 pin connector but the motherboard uses a 24 pin.

Theres a EATX12V cable (no idea what this is lol) plus a million other cables as well, am I just trying to plug the wrong thing in or have I messed up?

Cheers

you should be able to plug the 20pin into the 24pin connector just fine mate :) just misses off 4 fins at the end - or if you want peace of mind get yourself a 20->24pin adaptor (pretty sure i have some spare)

just make sure the latch on the 20pin is on the same side as the lip on the 24pin connector and put it in right over on one said (i forget which side) leaving 4 connector holes open

Looking at the specs/website you should have a 4pin plug that fits onto the side of the 20pin connector

ypu may also have a separate 4pin connector to plug into the motherboard, although I am not sure about that one sorry

yes i have the modular 580w tagan in one of my pcs and theres definately an extra 4plug that connects to the 20plug for newer motherboards such as your own, the booklet that comes with the PSU has very straightforward picture guides to show you how to connect it :)
