Pocket picked when i was in Marseille, had someone try and do the same in Barca but i knew what to expect (where they talk some football rubbish and try to distract you by tapping your leg). He got a dig

I was still in uniform as well, so I had Royal Marines plastered all over me. They weren't drugged up or anything either that I could see.

Just desperate I suppose.

It is quite amusing now that you mention it.

Although, I wouldn't suggest punching an armed mugger to anyone. I did it without thinking at the time.

It still amazes me that two kids would even attempt to rob a 6ft2 16stone bloke who is obviously in the Armed Forces when I am sure there were easier targets about.

You actions probably saved some other poor folk getting robbed that day, even stabbed. So good on you for teaching them a lesson.

I was beaten for a sled when I was 11, there was me and a mate and about 15 of the other lot who were 15-16 year olds..
When I was approached by the group I knew we were going to lose it so we just walked away and left them to it thankfull that was all that happened.
About 3 mins later the whole group had ran after us, kicked us in the back knocking us down, then gave us a few punches and kicks and calmly walked off after a couple of passing girls screamed at them to stop.
Obviously they just wanted to beat up a couple kids.
What surprised me the most, is it didn't hurt in the slightest and I was left with no marks. But I remember being scared.

The level of violence is extreme in some cases, it's not just stealing your wallet, it's a kicking and theft.

Got in a taxi after a night out, on the way home going over speed bumps in an ethnic area of the city when the car behind flashes. The taxi pulls up I ask him what he has stopped for when 4 Pakistani youths get out of the car. 1 opens the door and hits me, which was very painful thanks to his love of sovereigns. They hold me up against the taxi and demand money for the taxi so I get a load of change like £5. They throw me to floor and I get another whack from this scum bag. He then demands more money so I give him some more and start to walk off I get about 10 yards away when 1 run and hits me again. I made my way home with a sore head and cut lip but thinking I was rather fortunate.

A lot of effort for around £10 change though. Must have been saving for another sovereign ring from Argos.

Shocking, they should be doing 5-10 years for that.
