Have you had your teeth whitened?

No need to spend silly amounts on gels or stips. Sprinkle about 1/4 of a teaspoon of bicarb of soda onto your toothbrush every time you brush your teeth. You'll notice the results in a couple of weeks. It made my teeth more sensitive so I stopped but I'm sure changing my toothpaste to Sensodyne would have helped.

Got to be careful with this sort of stuff guys.

Michael Jackson got his teeth whitened....

Then he got his skin whitened.....

You don't wanna know what comes after that.

Its a downward spiral.

On a serious note, be careful with some of this stuff your using to brush your teeth with, it wears away at the enamel (which is what makes your teeth sensitive) Which never comes back... so carry on or do it too much and eventually you will have very small and thin teeth.

I've been using crest white-stripes, not that many over the last couple of months (still not even a whole pack).

An an ex smoker/black coffee drinker my teeth were not longer the natural white they used to be - they have gone from a mild yellow (nothing terrible) to a natural white (not Simon Cowell level), but if I used the rest of the pack I could end up that way.

Using the crest white-strips supreme professional effects (not that expensive, about £35 for 21 applications).

Used about 10 in total so far & I'm happy with the results - one key note, these are around 14% (much stronger than the rest of the crest range, so if you have sensitive teeth it will hurt you if you use the recommended two in a day).

I have very thick & strong teeth (no decay, fillings or ever had toothache & can chew ice-cubes & two of those in one day hurt).

brits with yellow teeth (we are famous for it around the world....)

if you want to break with tradition then whitestrips are good but you won't end up with super white teeth - you will notice the difference but don't expect too much

I would prefer that then looking like you had unnaturally white teeth. It would be too obvious then

Add to that I'm older than her, better paid, better qualified and better educated I don't feel I should be getting my first name and her by surname.

Wow - superiority complex much?

Teeth whitening - never thought about it - I'm not a preener and my looks are what they are - never felt the need to artificially alter them.

Well I guess for some of us it's artificially correcting them after artificially damaging them (smoking being a key one).

No

But am seriously thinking about it

What happens if you have veneers?

Do these whiten or do they need to be replaced?

Lew
IIRC veneers don't get whitened by the stripes, just the teeth - so if you had clearly visible veneers at the front they would need replacing.

Yes, via groupon so it was £65 for a professional session.
10 shades whiter, very pleased!
Bit sore for a few hours, and the white diet for 2 days after was a nuisance.

Does it hurt when your brother does it? Or does my nasty witch of a hygienist hurt me on purpose?

It's not a particularly pleasant experience no, I am pretty much screwed up into a ball on the seat. But it's sort of a mental pain and discomfort... think angle grinder on a brick :o :o :o

Right then to update:

On that scale if I'm brutually honest I'd say I'm a M2 1 or M2 1.5

I've got the Crest Supreme strips and will be applying them for a month, twice a day.

I've already tried one and I must have done it wrong as I brushed my teeth before and it didn't stick to my teeth.

After 30 mins one tooth is feeling sensitive.
