Hi there

We have the Hazro's back in, were continuing to do the glass versions because even though some have some very minor dust issues there is still incredible demand in place as the positives far outweigh the negatives of the glass screen. :)

However for those who are put off by the possibility of dust behind the glass which happens with all glass fronted monitors, including NEC's we also have some none-glass fronted panels which obviously suffer from no dust issues.

So now you can truly get an amazing 27" IPS based panel for nearly half the price of the DELL equivalent. :)

These monitors use a glass coating on the front which results in much sharper images quality, more vibrant colours and an overall better viewing experience. The downfalls of glass fronted panel is the monitor weighs a lot more and the manufacturing process can lead to dust particles been trapped between the panel and the glass which can sometimes be spotted when up very close to the screen and with certain solid coloured backgrounds.

The stock is due early next week and were holding this incredible pre-order price until next tuesday ONLY! So get your orders in now if you want an absolute bargain and what is a truly stunning monitor. :)

Hazro have informed me on this new batch they have taken extreme measures to limit any dust but for those who don't want to take the risk, the none-glass version is more appropiate.

Damn you Gibbo and your special offers. I had made up my mind to wait until the new Samys were released and was going to pass on the Hazro's. Now you go and get them in without glass and at a fantastic price!

I should be studying too and not procrastinating about what screen to buy!

*Check bank balance*

Question: On the non-glass ones, is it a matte screen or is it glossy?

For anyone interested, there's a review here and the massive thread over in the monitors section.

Key differences between HZ27WA and HZ27WC:

TFT Central said:
HZ27WA - DL-DVI, 1x HDMI, 2x VGA and component interfaces available. Provided with cables for 1x DL-DVI, 1x VGA, 1x HDMI, 1x stereo audio and power supply (no component). OSD available. 2 in-built scalers offering hardware level aspect ratio control. These also allow for additional controller board level frame rate control for 10-bit sources and support of higher colour depth where available. Dynamic contrast ratio available. 5 defined adjustments possible to backlight intensity. Slightly higher retail cost.

HZ27WC - DL-DVI interface only. Comes packaged with DVI and stereo cables only. No OSD menu available, only quick access control over power, backlight and volume. 11 defined steps for backlight intensity control. There are no scalers available on this model so the support for 10-bit sources and aspect ratio control are not available. Lower retail price as a result of these cut-backs.

3 year warranty and made in the UK too .

I wish I could afford these monitors.

They aren't that expensive when you consider that this monitor you can take through for the next 10 years. Probably more.

Plus I tend to think that the vast majority of people on this forum aren't that badly paid. Go on, you know you want to ;)

i ordered the glass version as well.
i sat in the Apple store drooling over the 27 inch monitor.. and thought: if its anything near as nice as that monitor i will be oh soo happy.

if there are a few dust particles so be it.. as long as its hardly noticable once the screen is on i am not too perturbed :)

and @ £375 ... WTF

just hope my 5770 [crossfire] can handle the resolutions.. otherwise throwing money down for a new card could turn out to be a rather expensive hobby.. ha ha ha

Gibbo, any news on when these are going to ship?

update please.. its the 25th now and it still reads.. "SPECIAL PRE-ORDER PRICE UNTIL NEXT TUESDAY (24/05/2011)"

please let me have the monitor before the weekend.. :D

Ordered my HZ27WC glass version last night, hoping these get shipped a.s.a.p :)

Daft question, but in regards to the dust behind the glass issue, if dust can get in, air can get in, so if air can get in, why can't I/We just use a can of compressed air to blast the dust particles out? Or am i missing the obvious here?

Iirc the glass is attached to the front of the panel during manufacture and then its sealed. If there is dust in the room it is being manufactured in (despite it being a "clean room") then that dust could be trapped between the glass and the panel. The dust cannot be blown out later.

I've ordered one of the none-glass ones. Not because of the dust, but I don't like reflections :)

Ah, i assumed when i'd read peoples comments about the dust "getting worse" that the glass wasn't completely sealed, I assumed for heat to escape, and the dust was getting in that way.

Either way i'm sure it'll be great (whenever it is finally in stock! :) )
