Hazro series - HZ30Wi, HZ30WiQ, HZ27WA, HZ27WB & HZ27WC

Derv

Either you have a bad cable with the 30" hazro or you are right they had sent you the wrong monitor i have 3 of Hazro Hz30wie and they clearly state in my nvidia control panel that they support HDCP

My Nvidia control panel said the same but it doesn't actually support it. Try the Cyberlink BD advisor and that will say it's unsupported. I also had two Blu-Ray players say exactly the same thing. I tried two different cables (including the one that Hazro supply) and neither worked. The same cable worked on my Dell straight out the box and I had no issues at all.

Have you tried to play a Blu-Ray on your screens or are you just going by the Nvidia panel?

In terms of switching output you need to remember that the Dell has so many of them (I think 6 in total, 2 DVI, 2 HDMI, VGA and DP). It would be very difficult to reduce the number of button presses unless you filled half the bezel with addional buttons. My old 22" dell had a source button to move between DVI/VGA/Auto so was either 2 or 3 button presses to switch.
The Hazro HZ27WD (which has 6 inputs as well) uses a source button in combination with the up/down buttons you use for the normal OSD as well. Personally I'd prefer it to work like on my Philips TV. One button that shows all options/jumps to the next and a small wait time before it jumps to the selected options.
One button required and as fast as it gets.

Very interesting. Does your NVidia panel say that it is a HZ30Wie or a HZ30Wif?

I may have to go back to OCUK about this. If I was mis-sold I shouldn't have to pay the £32 it has cost me to send back.

I posted my 4 star review of the Hazro HZ27WC on the OcUK product page last week. However, it seems that I was a little premature. The monitor died on Sunday. The backlight is on (I can still see the backlight bleed below the top of the bezel) but the picture is black.

I had hoped that it would last a bit longer than 3 weeks
Gutted!

Does anyone here know if it's possible to connect the Hazro to a different display port such as HDMI/DP using an adapter? I've attempted with a DVI>HDMI adapter + hdmi cable but the monitor backlight lights up but no image on screen, need to know asap because if not I'm going to have to replace my graphics card :(

EDIT: ah ha! looks like i need a: DisplayPort to Active DVI Dual-Link cable

EDIT2: ahhhhh ffs, the cheapest one of those is £32 and even that's ebay :/ Think i might be better off going back to a GTX580 damnit.

I wanted to swap my GTX580 with new GTX670 and use Display port to connect my hazro, but didn't know it would be that expensive. So THIS cable wouldn't be good for it?

Got my HZ27WC yesterday came with 1 stuck pixel used Jscreenfix and now there are no stuck/dead pixels. Happy with my purchase I was using a Dell U2711 for a week or so and while it's build quality/design and vast array of inputs beat the Hazro in it's sleep. I prefer the picture quality/colour reproduction on the Hazro at least for my uses anyway (After Effects/Gaming) obviously helped by being a glossy display + being able to control the lighting conditions of my room otherwise the Dell is an easy choice once again.

Now I know there are plenty of others out there with different uses and performance varies but I think I got one of the good one's. Minimal backlight bleeding only in the very bottom left of my screen only noticeable at night time with a fully black background so I'm pleasantly surprised.

Will be returning the Dell and was only a stop gap anyway as I waited for the Hazro if you prefer glossy like me and you don't mind the lack of input choice I think it's an easy decision. I was tempted by those cheap Korean Monitors but a Hazro for a £100-150 more has turned out to be a great choice.

Slightly irritated it was £399.99 all the time it was out of stock, as soon as it comes in it is £419.99. I thought ocuk are the main reseller for Hazro in the UK but it is actually available cheaper at a competitor

Still hoping ocuk will do it again at £350

Ah yeah, didn't notice that! Would the people who pre-ordered it, still get it for the £399?

I see the Hazro is back in stock! I thought they stopped making the £419 glass model?
Not sure that it is the glass model. I bought my HZ27WC five weeks ago and it was the non-glass version. Still fairly glossy though. If the box hadn't specifically mentioned that the screen had an anti-glare coating then I would not have believed it.

I loved my Hazro for 3 weeks. I just wish it had lasted a bit longer.
I got my refund this week and it was so tempting to order another one but I just don't want to risk it. If one of those £250 Korean imports had failed after 3 weeks then you might say, well it was worth taking a chance for that money, but I expected better reliablity for £420.

I am holding on to see what LG's new IPS monitors look like when they come out next month. Or I might just go for a Dell.

How long did it take for your refund to come through since first sending it for RMA? I've been waiting just over 4 weeks since sending mine off and I'm wondering how much longer it might take!

What happened with your HZ27WC ? obviously I may have issues that come up down the line but for now I can't have any complaints with my experience.
It worked perfectly for 2 weeks then one day I was responding to a thread in the OcUK forum about Hazro monitors funnily enough. I was writing about how pleased I was with the monitor when the screen faded to black. I could still see the backlight bleed against the top bezel but there was no picture. So I switched it off and back on again using the button at the back of the panel and it was fine after that. Then a few days later it did the same thing again only this time I could not get the picture to come back at all. I even tried leaving it switched off for a day but when I switched it back on... nothing, just the backlight bleed. It also buzzed when displaying certain web sites. OcUK was one of the sites it did not like. I was prepared to put up with a small amount of buzzing for £420 but the black screen was a show stopper obviously.

From getting the RMA number, it was 12 days (including a weekend) before I received the email confirming a refund then it took a couple of days for that refund to appear on my credit card statement. So that's 2 weeks. Not sure why you have been kept waiting for so long. Bear in mind that mine was RMA'd within 28 days of purchasing the item. I'm sure that OcUK themselves dealt with my RMA. Did yours go back to Hazro?

Yeah, mine was over 28 days so has gone back to Hazro (via Overclockers though). Sounds like you're right about overclockers dealing with yours themselves, their customer service is fine it's just Hazro who are awful. I did message OC to ask what was happening after a couple of weeks but just got the standard "you have to wait up to 28 working days" response.

That sucks hopefully that doesn't happen to me or I'll be annoyed. The only time I hear any buzzing coming from the monitor is when I have the speaker line in connected. I've noticed though that where you plug in the DVI cable you almost have to bend the input connection to have it fit. I wonder if that's what causes the signal issues a few weeks/months later it is a pretty huge design flaw.
