I have a quick question chaps, if I were to order an HD 5970 and a Corsair TX950w psu, I have noticed that the graphics card needs an 8 pin and 6 pin connector but the corsair does not have this 8 pin connector? or am I missing something?

Sorry I am a bit confused.

Thanks.

I have a Corsair TX950 and an XFX 5970 BE, I also have a Rampage 2 Extreme MB, I would seriously consider you get a different PSU if you have the same MB as me as I had to change my TX950 to my Thermaltake Tough Power 750W out of my old system, the system I have, the TX950 has issues, I could not install Windows 7, my PC would not move further in the installation during phase 1.
After lots of research on google I came across a thread about the TX950 and 2 other system builders having the same problem as me, they suggested the PSU (TX950) being the problem and they were going to install another, the HX1000, this cured the problem for both, so I took my Thermaltake out of my old system and just plonked it in my new system (no tidy cable management) and installed Windows 7 no problems and now i am waiting on an RMA from OCUK on the TX950 to an HX850, there is no fault as such with the TX950, I think its just a compatibility with my type of system......
Bottom line......if you got a setup like mine, get a HX type PSU, it might just save you a lot of hassle.
