im just wondering if its possible to have HD on a monitor that isnt HD when first bought (i dont really know the right words for this as i am very new). I hear people say something through DVI cable but i dont know what they mean.

I want a monitor of 20.1" that will allow HDTV quality, but if you can do HD via a DVI cable, will that be as good quality?

Also if its possible via DVI cable, will the viewsonic 2025 be able to do this?

HD (High Definition) refers to the amount of pixels on the screen

If you can muster 1280x720 screen rez you have 720p and 1920x1080 screen rez you have 1080i/p

If your primary use is for a TV then id say yes go for the TV if you want to use it as a PC monitor you just need to know that the current HDTV's can on do 1360x768 (approx) which isnt really my cup of tea when PC gaming

Im not sure how many HDTV's come with a DVi connection, but most will have component which will fill your HD needs

There are a lot of people on this forum that know tonnes more than me on this subject, hold out for a few more replies and see what pops
