Jono8 said:so im guessing this is around the performance of a 8800gtx seen as its almost the same price? Or is the same performance as a 2900xt standard but with more memory
lay-z-boy said:Should be around the same speed as the 512mb version, just slightly faster.
I laughed at that as well. I bet you they post on the forums as well.gizmoy2k said:Dont you just love how the fan boys have their reviews up on OCUK site for that card already......even though they have no idea how it works....

Not really, 512MB is enough isn almost all games and overclocking the memory on 512MB cards to get more memory bandwith does not lead to a higher framerate according to someone on this forum (can't remember who he was)melbourne720 said:Any reason to think that the 512MB 2900 XT was held back by 'only' having 512MB of memory? It could be the XTX all over again.
Just a quote from Gibbo for you to see on the 1GB 2900XT in case you missed it (found imformative).Gibbo said:Hi there
These cards generally have 0.9ns RAM or quicker. As such they are capable of hitting 850-900MHz core and 2200-2400MHz on the memory. On a 3GHz quad core, at the higher-end of that overclock a single one of these cards can achieve 14,000-15,000 3D Mark 2006 points. So they aint too slow, but not a huge improvement over the the 512MB when overclocked.
