Hi,
My family have just bought a SONY BRAVIA XR-55A84KU in the sales, however they / I have a few question. They think they may need new HDMI cables for all the features. Two HDMI ports 3&4 support 120Hz displays for gaming and HFR devices.
but the others only support 4k 60. at the moment they are using old HDMI cables which i am guessing would be HDMI 30 / 60 as they were bought ages ago and the start of the 4k era.
Lots of questions:
1) its A given that they should get new cables but should they get all new HDMI 2.1 cables or 2x 2.1 for ports 3&4 and the rest standard 4k 60 ones, not really sure what they need?
2) i am thinking of getting 2.1 ones for all as they would probably come in a pack, how much of a difference would that be if any when using theses in standard HDMI ports?
if anyone has a Sony OLED:
3) which ports should all there devices be plugged into. they currently have a NVidia shield, a Sky Box a Blue ray player and a rarely used Xbox S and
4) what settings should they all be set to in the options to get the best out of it? the Sony interface is a bit of a minefield when i look at compared to an LG.
Thanks for your help i owe you a beer!
