HDMI v.s DVI - Picture Quality

So in the future, can we see card makers removing the DVI port altogether and adopting the HDMI as standard?

If they can cope with HDMI's non-standard resolutions (like HD ready in many LED TVs), so it's gonna be quick and reasonable :) Otherwise - no, still too many issues with HDMI.

HDMI is fine for home entertainment but imo wont take off for PCs, DVI for next coupla years then displayport will lead the way after that (so says the crystal ball :p)

Display port is the main thing, especially as AMD and Nvidia are pushing for multi screen setups to emulate peripheral vision. Daisychaining being the reason, the ability to have one cable from gpu to screen 1, one from screen one to screen 2, etc, up to 6 screens.

DVi has the downside of being so universally compatible aswell, because its got so many options to transport analogue, digital, both, dual link the cables are fairly thick/ports big, while HDMI/display port are very small by comparison, easier to bend/hide.
