HDTV to Hifi

Hello i was wondering if i could get some assistance please,
I recently purchased a DENON D-M38DAB hifi micro system but im having some trouble getting my TV sound through my stereo my HDTV is not all that but it does the job it's a acoustic solutions i have lots of ports on the back i tried to connect to my hifi via red/white phono leads with no luck tried all combinations still nothing any ideas what may be going wrong? Thanks

The rightmost set of R & W phonos on the TV are the audio outs according to the little logo shown in your TV picture. You may need to activate the feature in the TV though. Check your manual.

Well i just had another play about and found that I do have sound coming through my stereo but for some reason it is not coming through my Western Digital Live media player which is what I was testing it with any reason why ? Thanks

Settings, wrong plug hole, broken cable, no sound on file, volume turned down etc etc etc take your pick

I managed to figure it out there was a setting in the menu for Ext-2 Out and I can change that to the correct channel for the sound is just a pain that I have to mess about changing it every time for what ever channel i have on is there a way round that?

No idea.... Have you read the manual or Googled that particular issue?
